Like the Prophet Amos in the First Reading and the Apostles in our Gospel, we are also called entrusted with the responsibility of tirelessly proclaiming the Good News of God’s Mercy.

Our faith, obedience, work for justice, and service are a response to the Savior’s gift.

As we celebrate the memory of Saint Gertrude, let us pray for the grace to open our hearts to the consoling and transforming love of Christ’s own Heart that so indelibly shaped Gertrude’s life and teaching.

What was more important was who Joseph was: a person of trust who made himself available, open to what God asked of him. He lived his life as a gift.
